Blenheim police are have located a yachtsman who failed to meet up with his friend on New Year's Eve.

Peter Gascoigne, 52, was reported missing in the Marlborough Sounds area, and was believed to be in his 23-foot blue and white yacht, Southerlee.
Police said he was a very competent sailor who was familiar with the Marlborough Sounds area.
He was located safe and well a short time ago, police said.
