About 12.30pm today, a masked man threatened staff at a Riccarton Rd Kiwibank with a gun. He left with an undisclosed sum of cash.
He left on a red bicycle. He wore a silver helmet and carried a black bag and a long, thin firearm.
Last Thursday, the Kiwibank at Bush Inn in Upper Riccarton was robbed by a man with a gun who left on a bicycle.
Police said they were gathering CCTV footage and a scene examination was under way.
The offender was described as a middle-aged European male, wearing a white mask with a dark balaclava over it.
Anyone who saw the man should phone Detective Senior Sergeant Leairne Dow on (03) 363-7400.
The Bush Inn Kiwibank was robbed on 17 November. In that incident, a man wearing all black, who appeared to be in his mid-20s, approached a teller with a note that said he had a gun.
He was given cash and walked towards the underground carpark.
No-one had yet been arrested for the November robbery, a police spokeswoman said.
