Nearly 2000 homes are without power in areas north of Auckland.
Heavy rain has lashed the upper North Island today causing flooding, slips, power cuts and forcing some evacuations.
Vector says 1238 houses are affected in Silverdale, and 739 in Whangaparaoa.
Supply is likely to be restored to Silverdale by 11pm and to Whangaparaoa by 2am tomorrow.
MetService is forecasting heavy rain in Auckland city until Friday.
