The LookSee platform was set up for international tech workers to apply for jobs in Wellington's tech sector.
But a coding error meant when two people submitted forms simultaneously, their details - including their names, addresses, and contact numbers - were accidentally shared with the other person.
The chief executive of the agency, Chris Whelan, said the website has been shut down until they've completed an investigation into how the error came about.
"What we are now doing is to connect with each of those people and tell them what's happened, apologise unreservedly and make sure that they are absolutely not disappointed in any way," he said.
