A man has died after what police say was a suspected hit-and-run in the Gisborne region.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Tapuaeroa Road in Ruatōria at 12.40am.
The man died at the scene.
Police are talking to a person who is helping them with their investigation which includes establishing whether the deceased was hit by a vehicle.
