Two motorcyclists are dead and State Highway 1 is closed in both directions after they collided with a tanker north of the Waikato town of Tokoroa.

The accident happened about 2.40pm on State Highway One, between the intersections with Rollett Road and Newell Road.
Police have confirmed the two motocyclists had died.
There were no other injuries.
The state highway remains closed in both directions between Wood Rd and Rollett Rd and diversions are in place.
