Police are examining the area where a body was found in bush near Thames yesterday afternoon.
A member of the public reported finding the body near Te Puru Forks just after 1pm.
Police said the body was being retrieved and a post-mortem would be completed tomorrow to confirm the cause of death.
They said they were notifying next of kin.
