A man is still in hospital after a drive-by shooting in South Auckland.
Emergency services were called to Ōtara about 7pm yesterday after reports of gunshots.
Police said three young men aged from 14 to 21, were walking on Kudu Road when a vehicle pulled up next to them.
They said there was a confrontation between the two groups before someone inside the vehicle fired two shots, possibly from a shotgun.
The three men were taken to Middlemore Hospital, one with moderate injuries and two with superficial wounds. Two of them have now been discharged.
Police said they were taking the incident very seriously and they were making a number of enquiries to try and find the offenders. They have asked for any witnesses to come forward.
People living near yesterday evening's drive-by shooting say the police have not shared details about what happened or what they should do now.
One neighbour, Tevita Katoa, has grandchildren staying with him and said he arrived home shortly after the shooting and police did not tell him anything and have not updated the neighbourhood today.
Mr Katoa said he would make sure his grandchildren do not play at the front of the house.
