Police may lay charges after a four-year-old child was found wandering around a suburb on Auckland's North Shore in the early hours of Wednesday morning, while his mother was allegedly out drinking.
Officers say a man discovered the boy outside his Bayview home at 2.30am on Wednesday. The child was crying and calling for his mother.
Police say the boy had been left alone at a nearby address three hours earlier, and they are likely to lay charges against his mother.
