Marlborough police are appealing for information after 38 carcasses were found in a forestry block.
Forestry workers in the Rai Valley called the police today after they found the remains of 16 cattle, 12 sheep and 10 pigs.
Two burnt out cars were found nearby - but it was unclear if they were related to the carcasses, police said.
