Jacinda Ardern's birth announcement received thousands of likes within minutes, Megan Whelan looks at the social media reaction.
The couple announced the baby's arrival on Instagram. Within 15 minutes, the post had more than 20,000 likes, and 2000 comments.
"Thanks to all involved," tweeted the prime minister's partner Clarke Gayford.
