Some delays to flights are expected at Auckland Airport's International terminal after a fire sparked an evacuation.
Fire and Emergency said the small blaze at Auckland Airport started from a make-up stand.
Fire and Emergency said an automatic alarm went off at the duty free area of the international terminal just before 7pm today.
About 60 firefighters were called to the scene.
A spokesperson for the airport said everyone was evacuated safely and the fire was now extinguished.
The spokesperson said they were waiting for the all clear from Fire and Emergency for travellers to re-enter the area.
She said there would be some delays to flights.
People took to social media after the fire alarm went off.
Ha! Chaos at @AKL_Airport Smoke in the duty free store has set off fire alarm and they’ve evacuated everyone to the departure gates. Alarm telling everyone to wait for instructions, but no one in charge. Just a bunch of bewildered looking passengers.
