Firefighters have put out a car fire at a popular west Auckland beach.
Fire and Emergency said it was called out to Muriwai Beach just before 1.30pm today after reports of a car on fire.
It said the blazing car was found on the sand about 8km away from the main carpark.
A spokesperson said the cause of the fire was still unknown but the owner of the car was nearby.
No one was injured.
