The body of a man, who went missing last night, has been recovered from the Whanganui River.

The man was reported to be in distress in the river near Whanganui Airport just after 7pm yesterday.
Police, Coastguard, Surf Lifesavers and a Westpac rescue helicopter were all deployed, however the man was not able to be found last night.
The searched resumed this morning and the man's body was found at about 12.45pm by the police dive squad.
The death will be referred to the Coroner.
