Police have confirmed the shooting of a man south of Auckland is not linked to the shooting death of a man in Clover Park the day before.

Officers were called to a rural property on Wright Road in Waiau Pa yesterday afternoon, where they helped a man with a gunshot wound.
The man was taken to Middlemore Hospital in a critical, but stable, condition.
A 37-year-old man has been arrested after the shooting, and charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Meanwhile, a scene examination was set to take place today at the site of Saturday's fatal shooting on Darnell Crescent in Clover Park.
Police confirmed the two events were unrelated.
