4:14 pm on 27 April 2019

A disruptive passenger who caused a flight from Auckland to Santiago in Chile to be turned around, is being held by police under the Immigration Act.

The police say one person was taken into custody when the plane landed again at Auckland Airport, at 9.30pm yesterday.

The plane had taken off three hours earlier, but a decision was made during the flight to turn it back.

The police say only one passenger was involved but gave no further details.
