A pedestrian who was hit by a truck in Auckland this morning has died at the scene.
Emergency services were called to Great South Road, between Kevale Place and Mahia Road in Manurewa, shortly before 6.30am.
Diversions are in place and the Serious Crash Unit has been notified.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area and a section of Great South Rd in Takanini is closed, between Mahia Rd and Myers Rd, just north of the motorway interchange at Takanini
Meanwhile, trains in Auckland are running again after a fault on overhead lines cancelled some services this morning.
Auckland Transport says power has now been restored and Eastern and Southern line services will run to a 20-minute frequency until normal service returns.
Trains had been delayed or cancelled due to an overhead line problem between Papakura and Ōtāhuhu.

Services on the Southern line had been operating between Britomart and Penrose and on the Eastern line between Britomart and Sylvia Park only.
