A pedestrian has died after being hit by a truck in Auckland.
The crash happened just after 10.30am today on Mount Smart Road in Onehunga.
The pedestrian died at the scene.
A section of Onehunga Mall Road is expected to remain closed for some time.
Meanwhile, State Highway 57 in Levin has reopened following a serious crash this morning.
A truck and trailer hit powerlines just before 6am, blocking both lanes of the highway between Roslyn and Waihou Roads.
Police said no-one was injured. The Transport agency said while the road was open the speed limit had been temporarily dropped to 30km/h.
