Christchurch residents fighting a council plan to sell an historic pool site have put forward their submissions at a hearing.
The Christchurch City Council plans to sell the site of the former Edgeware pool, but members of the nearby community of St Albans say the land should be used as a public space, not sold for property development.
About 10 submitters got the chance to speak at the hearing on Wednesday.
A spokesperson for the St Albans Pavilion and Pool group, Craig Dickson, says there is strong community support for rebuilding a pool, or using the land as a community space.
The council will discuss the submissions at a later meeting and finalise the plan at the end of June.
