Police are responding to a report of a suspicious object on the field at Whangārei Boys' High School.

Northland police are currently at the scene and said the immediate area on the field has been cordoned off.
As a precaution, the school has been put on lockdown.
The NZDF and the Explosive Ordnance Disposal team will be attending, police said.
