Emergency services were called to Queens Flat, about 25km inland from Oamaru, about 12.30pm today.
A Fire and Emergency spokesperson said a tree had fallen on a private property and struck a woman, breaking her leg.
The spokesperson said her injuries are not serious, but she was being flown to hospital to be assessed and treated.
The police and St John also attended.
It is unclear why the tree fell. The area was buffeted by strong winds yesterday, but conditions have eased today.
