A person has been taken to hospital with critcial injuries after being stabbed in Canterbury.

Police say the assault took place on Peraki Street in Kaiapoi, just after midday.
The victim is in a critical but stable condition at Christchurch Hospital.
One person has been arrested in connection with the attack.
