One train service has been restored from Wellington to Porirua tonight, after six hours of no trains this afternoon.
A power outage occurred south of Takapu Road station at 12.30pm this afternoon.
All trains on the Kāpiti line had to be cancelled, following the outage, and while the fault only affected one track, both had to be closed off to repair the overhead wires.
Commuters have been complaining that the replacement bus services did not have enough room for them and they had to wait 40 minutes to start their journey home.
