Three people have been seriously injured after a car travelling on the wrong side of the road hit them in Hastings this morning.

The crash happened on Maraekakaho Road near the intersection of Francis Hicks Avenue.
The group was on a footpath waiting to cross when the car struck them.
One person was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
Two others sustained serious injuries.
The driver of the car did not stop.
Police said the car was an older model silver Mazda 323.
