A large fire has been burning in central Hamilton.

A Fire and Emergency spokesperson says the blaze started in shipping pallets outside a building on Victoria Street shortly before 3pm.
Flames then spread to the roof of the 20 by 50 metre building, which is currently unoccupied.
Six fire trucks, including with a long ladder to fight the blaze from above, are at the scene.
