Detective Inspector Michael Foster says the operation targeted several properties and culminated in the search of a Waipukurau address on Thursday.

He said those arrested faced charges relating to the supply of Class A and C drugs and intimidation and police believed there would be a significant disruption to the sale of drugs in the community.

"Anyone dealing drugs in the Central Hawke's Bay can expect to be the target of similar operations," Foster said.

"Enquiries are continuing and further charges are likely."
