Epsom death: Police seize car they were looking for

A member of the public has found the car police were seeking in relation to a man's body being found at an Epsom brothel on Tuesday.

Acting Detective Inspector Glenn Baldwin, who is heading the Operation Anniston investigation into the man's death, said the Toyota Yaris had been found in the Mt Roskill area.

He is grateful to the person who reported it, however, police are still keen to hear from anyone who saw the car on Monday night through to Tuesday morning.

"The vehicle has been seized and will be subject to further forensic examination later today," Baldwin said.

Police are appealing for information on a blue 2017 Toyota Yaris registration KSA289.

They are also asking for anyone who worked at or visited the brothel on Monday night to contact them.

Police have also taken the unusual step of clarifying that the dead man's ethnicity is not Asian.

A post-mortem has been completed and the priority is to identify the victim formally and notify his next of kin.

"We are unable to comment further on the identification of the deceased at this juncture."
