Three people have died in a crash in the Far North.
Emergency services were called to State Highway 1 near Towai at 2.17pm this afternoon, when two cars were involved in a collision, police said.
Two people died at the scene and police confirmed later this afternoon that a third person has died.
The road is closed in both directions and traffic diversions are being put in place.
