A magnitude 5.2 earthquake has struck near Levin, a day after the region was hit by 5.6 quake.
According to GeoNet, the quake struck 30km northwest of Levin at a depth of 32km, at 12.34pm.
More than 20,000 people have reported feeling the jolt, ranging from as far north as Auckland, all the way down to near Invercargill.
Yesterday, a 5.8 magnitude quake hit in the same area just before 8am.
