Foggy conditions are delaying air travel in and out of Christchurch and Wellington and have prompted warnings for motorists in the capital.
Seven Air New Zealand flights to or from Wellington have been delayed or diverted and three flights have been cancelled.
The airline's website says flight NZ8238 to Rotorua, NZ5330 from Christchurch and NZ8251 from Tauranga have been cancelled.
In Christchurch, NZ5741 to Dunedin and NZ5333 from Wellington have been cancelled. Four other flights to and from Christchurch have been delayed.
Wellington Airport advised travellers to contact their airline or check the airport's live flight information for the latest.
Early this morning NZTA urged motorists to drive to the conditions especially on State Highway 1 north of Johnsonville, on Ngauranga Gorge, the urban motorway and along State Highway 2 in Petone.
