Police have named a man who died after fleeing a pursuit in Flaxmere on Sunday.

He was 39-year-old Stacey Owen Waaka.
The man failed to stop for police on Henderson Road before midnight on Saturday and a pursuit started.
The car he was driving came to a stop a short time later, and he got out and assaulted an officer before fleeing on foot.
The chase ended when he was located at a house on Caernavon Drive.
Waaka died after suffering what appeared to be a medical event.
The coroner will make a formal ruling on the cause of death.
