The Jaycee building in central Wellington has been cleared of any fire threat.
Ten fire trucks arrived on the scene earlier today after reports of explosions in the power transformer.
Fire and Emergency were called to the heritage-listed building on Willis Street this afternoon after reports of explosions within the power transformer.
Crews were unable to enter the building until the power was switched off, which it was just before 5.30pm.
A crew is on the scene in charge of clean-up, as well as a fire investigator.
