A gas leak in a building in a South Otago town has been resolved but the site is still being monitored.

Emergency services received reports of the possible leak shortly after midday on Salcombe Street in Kaitangata.
The affected building was initially evacuated, and three fire crews and a hazardous materials unit from Dunedin were on site.
A Fire and Emergency spokesperson said testing was continuing on site, and monitoring for any gas.
