One person has died following a car crash north of Auckland this morning.

Police say the person died in hospital after the incident, which took place Kahikatea Flat Road in Dairy Flat.
The crash is currently blocking a lane and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
The Serious Crash Unit is investigating the crash.
It brings the holiday crash road toll to eight.
