A homicide investigation has been launched in Christchurch following the death of a man.

Detective Senior Sergeant Joel Syme says police were notified of a man taken to Christchurch Hospital this morning with critical injuries.
The man has since died.
Police are asking that anyone with information to contact the police directly, or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
