Two people have been rescued by helicopter from Mt Aspiring National Park following an avalanche.

Police in Queenstown were told of the avalanche on Mt Earnslaw, near Wanaka, around 8am today.
They say search and rescue teams were sent to fly the pair out.
St Johns said one person has moderate injuries and the other has minor injuries. Both both have been taken to hospital for treatment.
