An inmate has died at Spring Hill Corrections Facility in Waikato.

The prison's director, Scott Walker, said the man died last night despite staff making every effort to save him.
He said there was no indication the man's death is suspicious.
The death has been referred to the Coroner and the independent Corrections Inspectorate.
