Thousands attended services in New Zealand's cities and towns, with about 10,000 attending the dawn service at the Pukeahu National War Memorial Park in Wellington.
RNZ journalists were on the scene in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch to capture the occasion.
