A man and a woman charged with the assault of a 4-year-old boy in Flaxmere have been remanded on bail.

In January last year, a boy was found critically injured at a property in the Hastings suburb.
Police said the boy had made a remarkable recovery but had permanent brain damage.
Last week, police charged a 32-year-old woman and 27-year-old man over the incident.
They appeared in front of a registrar at the Hastings District Court this morning.
They were granted interim name suppression and will reappear in court next month.
