Residents in Levin, Shannon and Tokomaru have been asked to reduce or stop using water all together as the reservoirs sit at critically low levels.

Heavy rain over the weekend has meant the Horowhenua district's silt-laden water treatment plants could not keep up with demand.
At lunch time today the council said if water consumption did not reduce parts of the district could run out of water.
It said water tankers with drinking water are located at the following locations, but that people would need to bring their own containers for filling.
- Shannon - public toilets at Ballance Street
- Levin - Levin Performing Arts Centre, Queen Street East and the car park on the corner of Salisbury and Bath Street
The region has received emergency alerts twice today informing them about the need to reduce water for at least 48 hours to allow levels to return to normal.
