Police closed part of State Highway 1 near Burnham Military Camp, south of Christchurch, while they search a house this morning.
Waka Kotahi / NZTA reported a 3.5km stretch of the road was closed from Burnham Road to Dunns Crossing Road.
A police spokesperson said a pre-planned search was being carried out of an address in Burnham.
Armed police arrested three men aged 24, 31 and 39 in connection with a shooting last weekend.

They will appear in the Christchurch District Court charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
A man was allegedly shot at a property in Pareroa - 150 kilometres away - last Saturday afternoon.
He was treated in hospital but has since been discharged.
Police said the property searched this morning was linked to the Mongols gang.
The arrests were at a Burnham property which the police said was linked to the Mongols gang.
