A teenager has been charged with murdering Zion Purukamu, who was fatally stabbed at a party in Christchurch on Friday night.

He was just 16-years-old.
Police said tonight one person had been arrested in relation to Purukamu's death. They had been charged with murder and two counts of wounding. They are due to appear in Christchurch Youth Court tomorrow.
Police said in a statement that Purukamu's family had been advised of the arrest, and they thanked the members of the public who provided information to police.
Operation Medbury remains an active investigation, and police still want to speak to people who were at the party.
