Two women who were missing in the Hunua Ranges in east Auckland have been found.
Police earlier today appealed for sightings of Mikayla Taiapo, 27, and Ngahuia (Huia) Flavell, 29, who they said were last seen around 11am yesterday after planning to go for a walk in the Hunua Ranges Regional Park.
Their vehicle (a Ford Ranger) was found today on Moumoukai Road.
Police and Landsar staff searched the area today, as did two men who had local knowledge of the area.
The men found the women, who were uninjured, 10 kilometres north-east from the start point of their tramp, police said.
They were likely to have walked between 20km and 30km through dense bush over the past 24 hours, police said.
They were flown out by police helicopter.
