A 15-year-old has been charged with murder after the death of a man in Ōkaihau near Kaikohe on Monday evening.

The victim, Ōkaihau local Michael John Biggins, 62, was found in a car crashed into a paddock and died at the scene.
"Mr Biggin's was a much loved member of his family and they are devastated by his loss. We are working to support them along with Victim Support," Detective Inspector Rhys Johnston said.
He says there are still a number of people to speak with in relation to the case.
The teenager is expected to appear in the Kaikohe Youth Court today.
