Eight of the 81 cases of Covid-19 in hospital today have been fully vaccinated for more than 14 days.
There were 185 new community cases of Covid-19 reported today by the Ministry of Health.
It said there are 81 cases in hospital, including 10 in intensive care.
More than half - 46 cases - are unvaccinated or not eligible.
Another 24 cases are partially vaccinated, while two cases have been fully vaccinated for less than 14 days and eight have been fully vaccinated for more than two weeks.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Grant Robertson says advice from public health officials backs the move to reopen Auckland primary schools next week.
Students at primary schools and kura in Auckland and the area of Waikato in level 3 return to class on Wednesday.
Robertson told First Up advice from health officials was as long as schools had adequate ventilation, and children from year 4 and up were masked, it was safe for classrooms to open their doors again.
