The Bay of Plenty District Health Board is reporting unprecedented demand on Covid testing stations today.
Two cases were confirmed in Mount Maunganui and Tauranga yesterday, with a further five announced today.
One is yet to be linked to the original cases.

DHB incident controller Trevor Richardson is asking people at testing sites to be patient.
He said he is in the process of redeploying staff to meet the high level of demand.
