Emergency services are responding to a crash near Turua, Waikato, and say initial indications are there are serious injuries.

Police said in a statement the crash between a tanker and car on Orchard East Rd near Turua was reported just after 6.30pm.
Cordons are in place and motorists are asked to avoid the area.
