Christchurch police are investigating reports of a young man exposing himself and indecently assaulting women in part of the city's red zone.

They say the women have been approached around River and Retreat Roads in Avonside, mainly between 6.30am and 8am.
The last report to police was on New Year's Day.
Police are asking people to "be aware of their surroundings" if they are in the area.
They are also asking that anyone with relevant information get in touch, via the 105 number and quote file number 220101/8979.
