Remains found on a Canterbury beach in early January have been identified as those of Lewis Jarred Robertson, 37.

Police Detective Sergeant Dan Isherwood significant investigative work had been carried out by North Canterbury CIB and the death was not being treated as suspicious.
"Our thoughts go out to Lewis' family and friends, who have asked for privacy at this time," Isherwood said.
Robertson's remains were found on Leithfield Beach on 6 January 2022. The matter will be referred to the Coroner.
Cash located by members of the public on the beach was linked to a burglary at The Warehouse, Richmond, on or about 24 December 2021, Isherwood said.
Inquiries continue.
