The video, posted earlier today on their facebook page, but dated 12 March, captures footage of a person throwing a burning object over the fence.

Another clip of the published video - this time of more footage playing via another screen - appears to show inside the gated area near the building, where a bright object lands, the screen goes white and then a fire is visible.

The video is captioned "stop hating Russians" and also says threats to the embassy were received via phone a few days prior.

Police were unable to confirm this evening if they were investigating

The embassy has been approached for comment.

Last month, Ukrainians and their supporters peacefully protested against the Russian invasion outside the Karori embassy.
